Melissa Viatori, DNP, FNP-C has been in the healthcare field since 2005. Starting as a hematology/oncology RN in 2005, she has a strong background in oncology and family medicine. She earned a masters of science in nursing from Duke University in 2009 and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of North Carolina Greensboro in 2021.

While much of her career has been focused on care of oncology patients in the acute care setting, she has been practicing family medicine in the High Country since spring of 2023. Melissa is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and has served on the board for the San Francisco Bay Area Oncology Nursing society.

She has been involved in clinical teaching at Appalachian State University at the School of Nursing and precepts Nurse Practitioner students during their clinical rotations. When she is not at work, you will find her outside skiing, hiking, or coaching youth sports at the Watauga Recreation Center.
