Dr. Murrey has maintained an independent medical practice in Boone since 1992. As founder of Greenway Medical Associates, he works with his staff and other practitioners to provide excellent care and personal attention to patients and families by supporting holistic wellness.

Though independent, Dr. Murrey maintains active staff privileges at UNC Appalachian. He has served in medical staff leadership in the past as Chief of Staff, Chief of the Department of Medicine, Member Board of Trustees, Chief of Credentials Committee, and Medical Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation. He has also served the community on the boards for Watauga Opportunities, Watauga Red Cross, and Watauga County Habitat for Humanity. Since 1992 he has maintained Family Medicine Board and ACLS Certifications.
